I confess I’ve never been much of a cook and I actually never enjoyed being in the kitchen. That was until I discovered baking. I love science and I also love to create. At its core, those things are the essence of baking. After seeing The Great British Bake Off for the first time I thought…yeah, I wanna bake! So with a little science, a little art, a little magic and lots of trial and error, I’m bringing you Becka’s Bougie Bakes.
I’m here to break down the bougie into fuss free bakes that you can create in your own kitchen. I’ll share tips, tricks and products I love that have made a difference in my baking. I’ll also let you know what didn’t work. Like I said, trial and error, not every bake is a winner right out of the gate. That said, I’d like to thank all my fellow bakers who have tested out my prototype recipes and reported back. It helps me write more comprehensive recipes and get a feel for whether it’s really fuss free or not.
When I’m not baking, I’m performing or teaching dance, crafting, creating or spending time at the lake with my husband. Our home is managed by 2 rescue cats and 3 very spoiled Pomeranians. All of whom are excellent taste testers! I also work full time in civil and environmental engineering. A little science, a little art…a little magic. The essence of life and baking.
